The Ethnography Studio presents:

Decolonizing Experiments with Dr. Tim Neale

10:00 – 12:00 pm
September 11, 2019
Sewall Hall 570, Rice University

Join us for the first event of 2019! A workshop where we will consider paths towards decolonization in knowledge production practices.  During the first part of our session we will zoom into the principles that orient a decolonizing epistemic practice. Then we will conduct an experiment where we play out the difficulties, or decision points, of applying decolonial principles. The workshop is open to all students but it requires RSVP before September 9th.

To RSVP please:

1- Submit a 150-200 word statement about what decolonizing research might look like in their own perspective. The statement can be grounded in their own research projects.

2-Read two background pieces a) Decolonization is not a metaphor  and b) Walking together. Optional, Pluriverse piece. All of these can be found here and here.

Light lunch will be served.
